Da First Family Of Albion Return - 25/10/2009

Peter Doherty, The Skuzzies and The General storm The Halo Bar, Battersea,
on Friday November 6th. How ironic, a venue called The Halo, when all around
people's sancity (and sanity ) will be slipping, at least that's what
we're hoping for. Billed as a pre-Christmas bash, order your hangover early.

The Halo Bar: Open 8 Till Late. 317 Battersea Park Road, Battersea, London
SW11. Nearest tube/train Queenstown Road/Battersea Park. As of yet we don't
know how much tickets are but they are available on line through Ticket
Sellers.

They Live By Night : What The Skuzzies did next - 20/09/2009

A wave of complaints followed the Skuzzies guest appearance on Resonance Radio. Apologies to DJ Naomi who lost her job but not her nerve. Somehow the Skuzzies carried on undaunted to Brighton where they delighted the afternoon drinkers in the glorious Hotel Pelirocco. Proceedings opened with a reading from 'The Prettiest Star' by The Skuzzie's fairy god-mother, Nina Antonia, backed by Jerome Alexandre. Bouyed by complimentary shots of bourbon, The Skuzzies then performed an acoustic set, playing countrified versions of their own material and some well-chosen covers including 'Dracula's Wedding' by Outkast and Presley's 'Heartbreak Hotel'. The desk clerk wasn't dressed in black and to the Pelirocco we will be coming back, if they'll have us. As August peaked, The Skuzzies ventured to Ladbroke Grove, where they played Liquid Nation.' Twas a fun night that included General Santana singing 'Terrible Pain' with The Skuzzies and a set from Alan Wass. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to the kebab shop who donated (or should that be donerated ) a carpet for Nick's drum kit. A week later The Skuzzies set off for Seven Sister's very own Woodbury Tavern for a gig with Babyshambles. Also included on the bill was General Santana, Alan Wass and The Younghearts. The lovely landlady and her crew provided sandwiches, cakes and crisps for all and a washing machine on the stage. It all comes out in the wash. On 10th September, The Skuzzies went uptown to play The Queen of Hoxton, once again with Peter Doherty who played a peachy acoustic set. Despite dodgey monitors, The Skuzzies prevailed with their usual aplomb. Watch this space for upcoming Autumn nocturnes !!!
